Store Policies

We look forward to providing our customers with a great consignment shopping experience.  This begins by having a clear understanding of our store policies regarding purchases.

Payment

Your purchases made at The Cedar Chest store in Clinton, CT may be made with cash, a personal check (with proper I.D.), or by credit card.  We currently accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover Card. 

Online Purchases:

Online payments are processed using PayPal. PayPal is a safe and secure way to pay with your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. You may also pay with a check via PayPal. You will be directed to PayPal's website once you checkout and are ready to pay. There is no fee to use PayPal. After adding merchandise to your basket, you will be ready to check out. You will check out using PayPal which accepts all credit cards and checks. You do not need to have a PayPal Account to shop with us. Shopping with us is 100% secure.

Sales Tax

6% Connecticut sales tax added to non-clothing items, or clothing items over $50. sold at our Clinton store, or shipped within the state.  If you are purchasing from us online, there is no sales tax applied for items shipped outside of Connecticut.  

Returns

We are consignment/resale offering top designer labels at very low prices, therefore we have a very strict return policy. We understand that you are unable to try on items virtually.  The best way to be satisfied with your purchase is to call or email us for more information before you make your purchase. We try our best to provide measurements when appropriate.  Buyer's remorse is not a reason to return an item.  Returns are accepted within 7 days of receipt and you must CALL us first before mailing.  We are sorry but we are unable to refund shipping.

Shipping

Orders are shipped within three business days after receiving payment. Exceptions are holidays and weekends. All items will be fully insured when shipped. Purchases will only be shipped to the buyers confirmed/verified credit card billing address. We ship USPS Priority Mail.  We currently ship to U.S. locations only.

Sold out items

We update sold items manually and periodically throughout the day. If you purchase an item that is already sold out, we will notify you via email and refund your payment promptly. Please know that The Cedar Chest may receive several orders for the same item, especially when promoted on our Hot New Items page, through our email updates. Unfortunately, because we are consignment, we only usually have one of each item. If you order an item that has already been sold, your payment will be promptly refunded. If you order multiple items and some of the items are not available, you of course will be promptly refunded for the items that are unavailable.
