As I prepare for my retirement at the end of this year, it brings me immense joy to share that The Cedar Chest will continue to thrive under new ownership starting January 2025. Since opening the first Cedar Chest store in Clinton, CT, back in 1980. From our humble beginnings as a small ladies consignment boutique, we have expanded to three more locations, becoming a beloved destination recognized by Connecticut Magazine, Ink, The Advocate, and many more as one of the finest consignment shops in the state. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your loyal support throughout the years; it has truly meant the world to me. I am incredibly proud of our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure your consignment shopping experience is nothing short of fantastic. So, what does this transition mean for you? The Cedar Chest III in Old Saybrook will remain open and continue to offer the same wonderful bargains and quality you have come to expect. Rest assured, consignments will carry on as usual without any disruption during this changeover. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing this journey with you!

I have been consigning and shopping in your stores for eight or nine yrs and it has always been a fun experience. I frequented the Waterford, Old Saybrook, and the Madison stores during my summer stays in CT. I had several chats with you Nancy and always enjoyed seeing you. You are a lovely lady and I wish you a happy and healthy well-earned retirement. Best wishes Carol Kline from New London and Fernandina Beach, FL.

Wishing you all the best in your next chapter! Will miss you! Love the Cedar Chest and was #10 consigner in the Old Saybrook store. So happy to hear that you will remain open with business “as usual”. Congratulations on your retirement. You have created gems for us all to enjoy! ❤️

Nancy, your smile and joy will be missed. But wow!!! From 1980 in Clinton to now… I first met you in that little shop across from what was a bank then and also one of my kids nursery schools.

Congratulations on a successful career helping us "out-dress and not outspend them." I have been shopping there since 1983 and have bought not only clothes (for myself, my husband, and daughter) but also accessories and furniture. I have visited many other consignment stores and Cedar Chest is the best. Happy Retirement!

Nancy, I wish you all the best. And loved going to all your shops. When I’m back around that area I always like to stop in and shop and will continue to do so. Good luck on your retirement!
